Sterilization and Cleanliness
We take cleanliness very seriously and use Sterile Technique for all of the body piercings we do. The first step in this technique is making sure that every single thing used during the piercing is sterile. To achieve sterilization, we use a machine called an autoclave. To prove to you that everything used during your procedure has been processed through our autoclave, we use what are called Sterilization Indicator Strips.
Unprocessed, they look like this:

As you are filling out a release form and receiving your aftercare instructions, we also present you with an unprocessed strip that we have you initial. This strip then goes into the autoclave along with everything else being used for your piercing. Before we pierce you, we once again show you this strip after it has been processed.
It now looks like this:

Notice that the K and arrow have both turned black. This shows to you that everything being used in your procedure has been ran through a sterilization cycle through one of our autoclaves. Here is a photo of one of our piercers putting on his sterile gloves, using the proper technique to keep all outside parts of the glove sterile:

We also apply the use of a sterile drape in each procedure to prevent outside contaminants from entering the sterile field that we create over your piercing.
