What is a Gallery Assistant?
Our goal at IRIS is to offer a fun, friendly, and safe experience to each client who comes in, be it to change jewelry or to have a new piercing service done. The gallery assistants are the ones who get that process started. Typically, a GA is the first and last person who interacts with clients at the studio. After initial greeting, a gallery assistant will help with paperwork, jewelry selection, and entering the transaction into the point of sale system. They form a bond with clients during jewelry selection, working together to find the perfect piece for each piercing.
What qualifications do I need to become a Gallery Assistant?
We look for team members who can come to work with enthusiasm and a good attitude. Because customer experience is our primary focus, you must be able to work well with people, being personable and welcoming. IRIS will teach you what you need to know about jewelry and the information regarding piercing that will help you excel at the shop; but having a passion for piercing and jewelry is a definite bonus. Basic computer skills, sales, and communication will also benefit a gallery assistant. To work at IRIS you must be over 18.
Gallery Assistant responsibilities:
-Keeping in touch with clients via phone, text, and email
-Creating a welcoming environment where jewelry is shown and selected
-Finalizing sales with clients
-Maintaining gallery cleanliness
-Some jewelry inventory
-Capturing photos of jewelry/piercings
